Yuki Cross

Yuki Cross is a fictional character in Matsuri Hino's manga Vampire Knight. She is the adopted daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy. Ten years prior to the events of "Vampire Knight," Yuki was attacked by a vampire, but was rescued by Kaname Kuran. She has lost all memory of her life before the attack, and Headmaster Cross took her in as his own daughter. She is childhood / close friends with Zero Kiryu. Yuki also admires and has romantic feelings towards Kaname Kuran. From most recent chapters, Yuki has become Kaname's lover to prove she never hated him and to learn of her past memories. It is also revealed that she and Kaname are siblings, but not by birth.

Relationship with Kaname Kuran

Kaname rescued Yuki from being bitten by a Level E vampire. Yuki considers that day the "day of her birth" because she lost her memories of her life before the vampire attack. She admires Kaname and has romantic feelings for him. It is also shown later in the manga that Kaname does return her feelings. Yuki was previously extremely close with Kaname but after an witnessing Kaname taking Ruka's blood become slightly afraid of him. However Kaname was drinking Ruka's blood to prevent himself from taking Yuki's blood. There is a point where she is almost bitten by Kaname. When Kaname asks if she wants to become a vampire and stay by his side forever, Yuki answered with a yes, but Kaname did not bring himself to bite her as she was crying, supposedly out of confusion. However, there is a point of time where Yuki starts to doubt Kaname, thinking that he may be the one who sealed her memory from her, since he continuously kept changing the subject when Yuki brings the subject of her past. Yuki also questions is it alright for them to be together, In Chapter 33 she says 'Is it really okay for me to love you' As of recent chapters, to prove to Kaname that she does not hate him and because he promised her that he would tell her what she has forgotten, Yuki has accepted Kaname's offer to become his lover. Kaname is trying to protect Yuki from his uncle, Rido Kuran. Since Rido speaks about "the child" in which he hopes has awoken. The last time Kaname saw and killed his uncle, Rido was 10 years ago, the night in which Kaname found Yuki in the snow, so Yuki has involvement with Kaname and the Kuran Family. In Chapter 35 Kaname bites Yuki and then bites himself and in order for Yuki to drink his blood and remember her hidden past, or as Kaname said 'Awaken'. Yuki and Kaname are siblings (though not by birth, as Kaname says, "I would have been happier if I was born as her real older brother");, their mother, Juri Kuran, erased Yuki's memories so she could live like a normal human and be safe but at the cost of her own life.

Relationship with Zero Kiryu

Yuki has been always trying to keep Zero smiling ever since the Chairman brought him after Shizuku's attack. Yuki has always thought of Zero as a 'little brother' even though she is in fact younger by a year. Yuki continuously gives blood to Zero in hope he will be saved from insanity. Due to her blood giving, Zero feels he in guilty and debt to her, and is willing to let her do anything to him. Zero seems to have romantic feelings towards Yuki; with several occasions where they almost kiss. Zero has told Yuki he would not allow her to be become a vampire. In Chapter 34, Yuki has said that she tried and make Zero a necessary person with her life, to try and forget she is one 'who does not have a past'. However he also knows Yuki has romantic feelings towards Kaname Kuran. He even told Yuki 'You sound like you desperately need me. You are wrong, Yuki. The one Yuki needs is Kaname Kuran. It has been like that all along'. In Chapter 35, Zero smells Yuki's blood. Zero is about to try and kill Kaname but Yuki stops Zero from killing Kaname when he finds out that Yuki and Kaname are siblings, however not by birth as told by Kaname.
