ゆ, in hiragana, or ユ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, which each represent one mora. Both are written in two strokes and represent (IPA) /jɯ/. When small and accompanied by an -i kana, this kana represents not a separate sound but a modification of that of another (see yōon).
