Controversy
Since Young Money Entertainment's foundation there has been small bouts of controversy surrounding the label. Many artists signed to the label have not been able to release full-length albums but have been a part of mixtapes and are cosigned to other labels. New Orleans rapper, Currency left the label recently stating on his personal myspace blog that he had no intention of dissing the label but that it was time to move on. Lil Wayne created a myspace bulletin stating that Currency didn't pull his weight and was dropped from the label for doing so. This would all seem to stem from Currency's album being pushed back continually.[3] The Young Money official website contains almost no information about the label and only displays a video of Lil Wayne preparing for a BET awards show last year. The only other links on the website are to a message board, old Youtube videos of Lil Wayne, and an e-mail address.[4]
