Yellow Second was a melodic power pop band formed in Denver, Colorado by former members of Christian ska band Five Iron Frenzy (guitarist Scott Kerr & drummer Andrew Verdecchio) and The Rocket Summer. While Yellow Second is commonly referenced as a Christian band due to Scott Kerr and Andrew Verdecchio's prior involvement with Christian ska band Five Iron Frenzy, the band's lyrics are primarily secular with incidental references to God and prayer, while some lyrics are clearly critical of organized religion. Other themes include personal failings, romance, and allusions to the writing process. The band released three albums--June One, Still Small, and Altitude--before breakingup in late 2005. Several completed, though commercially-unreleased tracks (referred to as "B-sides"), were made available for download on the band's official Website. These tracks were entitled Waiting For No One, Velocity, Everything is Changing, and Return Receipt Requested. The official Website has since gone offline.
