Biography
He first came to the attention of the musical community as a result of an ambient music competition held in London's Wembley Stadium in 1993. Paul's demo tape came to the attention of noted ambient DJ Mixmaster Morris, who helped him land a record deal with Nottingham-based Em:t Records. After contributing one track to Em:t's first compilation album, the label's second release was a solo CD by Woob, which many regard as a milestone ambient release. Following the success of his first album, which was re-released in the USA by Instinct Records, Woob contributed tracks to more Em:t compilations and to trance label Flying Rhino Records. In late 1995, he released a second artist album on Em:t which garnered further praise. Soon after the collapse of Em:t Records in 1998, Paul's musical output as Woob ceased. More recently, he has made music as Journeyman (with Colin Waterton) and Max & Harvey (with Mark Butt). His two Woob albums are still highly regarded and sought after today by ambient music collectors.
