Gameplay

Players progress through a series of worlds, each with a given set of levels. Completion of the levels in one world (in any order) opens access to the next world. Individual levels in each world present a variety of challenges: some are puzzle/logic oriented, others are maze/exploration levels, while others again involve action challenges as Stinky and Loof try to evade traps and monsters. Wonderland is distributed online on a try-before-you-buy basis. A free Windows demo is available for download at Midnight Synergy.

Sequels and Related Games

The Wonderland game was published in 2002. Return To Wonderland was published in 2003 and later updated to a Deluxe and then Platinum Edition. Return To Wonderland introduces two new playable characters, Qookie and Peegue, as well as new game elements. Return To Wonderland also includes a level editor and access to an online player community. Wonderland Secret Worlds was published in 2005 and introduces a new storyline with 109 levels and new game elements. Many of the game’s levels were created and tested by members of the online game community. SpongeBob SquarePants Krabby Quest was published in 2005. Although not a direct sequel to Wonderland, it is based on the same game engine and includes similar gameplay. The game features Nickelodeon characters in the quest to collect lost Krabby Patties. Wonderland Adventures was published in 2007. This 'sequel' had a complete re-design of both the gameplay and visual engine and incoporates many changes into the way that the game is played.

Internet community

Return To Wonderland included a level editor and access to an internet player community. Here players can discuss the game, find level solutions, and trade user-made levels as well as custom 3D models and other graphics. Several thousand user-made levels are currently available for free download.

Trivia
