Windsor is a town in Aiken County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 127 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Windsor is located at 33°28′56″N, 81°30′48″W (33.482326, -81.513263)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.6 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 127 people, 52 households, and 34 families residing in the town. The population density was 126.7 people per square mile (49.0/km²). There were 63 housing units at an average density of 62.8/sq mi (24.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 69.29% White, 27.56% African American, 2.36% Native American, 0.79% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.36% of the population. There were 52 households out of which 36.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.8% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.6% were non-families. 28.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 3.09. In the town the population was spread out with 28.3% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 37.8% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.6 males. The median income for a household in the town was $35,833, and the median income for a family was $42,083. Males had a median income of $35,833 versus $23,750 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,828. There were 9.8% of families and 14.3% of the population living below the poverty line, including 20.5% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
