William David Lindsay Ride (born 1926), usually credited as W. D. L. Ride, is an Australian zoologist who was the chair of the committee that authored updated editions of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature. He was head of the School of Applied Science at the Canberra College of Advanced Education from 1982 to 1987. He also wrote the 1970 book A Guide to the Native Mammals of Australia.
