Sir William Burnett, M.D., KCB (1779February 16, 1861) was a British physician who served as Physician-General of the British Navy after June 9, 1832. Although the title was later changed to 'Director-General of the Medical Department of the Navy' , he held that post until his retirement in 1855. In 1835 Burnett was also named as physician to King William IV.
