Mr. Wilhelm, played by Richard Herd, is a character from the sitcom Seinfeld. He is George Costanza's superior in the New York Yankees organization; his title is Traveling Secretary. Usually pleasant but often absent-minded he is also sometimes suspicious of George, such as the time when he thought George was stealing baseball equipment because he was always sweating nervously(though it was actually from eating spicy Kung Pao Chicken). At one point, he is brainwashed and drafted by the Sunshine Carpet Cleaners, a religious cult operating as a carpet cleaning service. When George tries to confront him about it, he reveals that his new name is Tanya, a nod to the Patty Hearst case from the 1970s. In the 8th season, he quits the Yankees and takes up a job with the New York Mets that George desperately coveted.
