S. Cardone stepped up to the role. The film stars Lori Heuring, Scout Taylor-Compton, Chloe Moretz, Geoffrey Lewis, Ben Cross and Martin McDougall. Synopsis

The story is about recently widowed Karen Tunny (Heuring) and her two daughters, Sarah (Taylor-Compton) and Emma (Moretz). They move to a remote mountain home which Karen has inherited from the family of her late husband; however, she is unaware that the home is situated near an old mine, the site of an early 20th century tragedy in which many children were buried alive in a mine collapse. Unknown to everyone but a few, the children emerge every night from the mine as zombies prowling the dense woods looking for people to kill and eat as a way of subduing their craving for revenge.
