Whitney is the second album by American R&B singer Whitney Houston, released in 1987. The album became the first album by a female artist ever to debut at #1, and produced a then-record-equalling 4 #1 singles from one album. The album went nine times platinum and stayed in the pole position for a lengthy eleven weeks. With four consecutive #1 singles from her second album, Houston made history by breaking the record for Most Consecutive Number One Singles. The Beatles and The Bee Gees previously shared the record with six, but in 1988 Whitney's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" reached the top of the charts, stayed there for two consecutive weeks, and rewrote history. Houston's record still stands today.
