Interchange between the three stations is via the street. In order to complete a journey on a single ticket, interchange is permitted between the stations - for example from Richmond to St Albans, a valid route is to change here. The diagram shows the location of the three stations relative to each other. West Hampstead Thameslink to West Hampstead (North London Line) is a distance of approximately 100 yards (91 metres) along West End Lane; West Hampstead (Jubilee Line) is a similar distance to the south. Chiltern Railways services to and from London Marylebone station run along the route marked in blue; platforms could be added to the south of the present Jubilee Line station to provide interchange facilities, as discussed below.

North London Line

West Hampstead is a National Rail station on the North London Line between Brondesbury and Finchley Road & Frognal. It is in Travelcard Zone 2. The station and all trains are operated by London Overground. The normal service is a train every 15 minutes to Richmond and a train every 15 minutes to Stratford. Anglia Railways used to run a service that called here, between Norwich and Basingstoke, but this was discontinued in autumn 2002, due to congestion on the North London Line and the financial return being less than that forecast. The station was called West End Lane until 1975.

West Hampstead Thameslink is a National Rail station on the Midland Main Line and is served by First Capital Connect trains as part of the Thameslink Line service between Kentish Town and Cricklewood. It was built as West End by the Midland Railway in 1871 on its extension to St. Pancras, to serve the newly-developed area around the hamlet of West End. It became West End and Brondesbury in 1904 and West Hampstead in 1905. It was popular for many years for people taking a day out on Hampstead Heath and those visiting the chalybeate springs in Hampstead itself. The station is in Travelcard Zone 2. East Midlands Trains InterCity services from Leeds, Sheffield and Leicester run through at high speed, but do not stop. Interchange with InterCity services can be made at Luton and St Pancras International.

West Hampstead tube station is on the Jubilee Line.

Future

Chiltern Railways run train services from Birmingham and Aylesbury through the area to Marylebone railway station and have suggested adding new platforms on their line and creating a combined London Underground, London Overground, First Capital Connect and Chiltern station complex on the site of the three stations.
