Wayne Static is an American musician, and currently the singer, guitarist, keyboardist, and programmer for the industrial metal band Static-X.

Biography
Early life
Wayne Static, (born Wayne Richard[1] Wells[2][3][4], 4 November 1965[5][1][2][3], Muskegon[2], Michigan, USA[1][2][3][4]) grew up in Shelby, Michigan before moving to Chicago and eventually California. He was three years old when he received his first toy guitar. His parents decided at age seven to get him his first real guitar, an S12 beginner model. He was given lessons, which paid off a year later when he won a talent contest playing "Skip to My Lou". Wayne later played in his first band at the age of 12 and at that point he decided he wanted to be a musician.[6] Wayne attended Shelby High School and had summer jobs which included working as an asparagus picker and in a cherry canning factory.[7]
Career
After moving to Chicago, Wayne started the band Deep Blue Dream with Ken Jay. This was short lived as they relocated to California and Static-X was formed along with Tony Campos and Koichi Fukuda.[8] Wayne's hair is his most notable feature, which used to be held up, as mentioned in the Wisconsin Death Trip liner notes, by White Rain hair spray. Today, Wayne uses Suave Rave 4X Mega hair spray and the process takes about 20 minutes to complete. Wayne recently announced he will start a new band, Pighammer, a side project following the tour for Static-X's next album.[9]

- He has used different tunings for Static-X's albums: C Standard (CFA#D#gc) for Wisconsin Death Trip, Machine, and 9/13 of the songs of Shadow Zone. Drop A# (A#FA#D#GC) for the other songs on Shadow Zone. Start A War and Cannibal contains Drop A# tuning on all the songs.
Personal life
Wayne is an atheist and a vegetarian. He is currently dating adult movie actress Tera Wray.[13][14][15]
