Waves

The annual cultural fest of BITS-Pilani, Goa campus(BPGC), started in 2005 is today considered the biggest inter college cultural meet in goa. It has grown from being an intra-college fest in ’05 to going fully inter college in the second year itself.

Waves ’05

A modest beginning –Waves 2005 was an intra college(inter hostel) event of BPGC. “ride the waves”-the theme for the event set the mood for the kind of inter hostel contests that have now come to be part of Zephyr, the annual inter hostel fest; now considered a prelude to waves. The event took the participants for a ride through a series of events starting from Dance to Dramatics ,Music to Mime ,Fashion parade to fine arts. In the first year of its inception BPGC set the trend for the coming generations and ’06 and ’07 thus followed.

Waves ’06

”Take the plunge”-the theme of waves ’06 had a pun intended. It was a remarkable plunge from a modest intra –college to an inter-college event in just two years of the college’s establishment. As before ,there were a sequence of cultural and literary events. The sponsorship finally went external. The inauguration ceremony also included release of the first official short film presentation by the college.

Waves ’07: urban chaos

In the third year of the college, waves was made an intra-state festival. 12 colleges from all over Goa had come to participate in the cultural extravaganza. There were a wide variety of events to cater the students of all interests. From music,to dance, to fashion, to debating, WAVES '07 had it all. There was also a professional rock night. Big names such as motherjane, half step down and bhayank maut rocked the ground. It was a grand success in the entire Goa college scene.
