Washington Hunt (August 5, 1811 – February 2, 1867) was a former congressman and governor from New York. He was a judge in Niagara County from January 30, 1836 until February 4, 1841. He was elected to Congress as a Whig in 1842 and served from March 41843 until March 31849. He served as New York State Comptroller from 1849 until 1850. He was elected Governor of New York in 1850, but was defeated for re-election by Horatio Seymour in 1852. Born in Greene County, New York, Hunt was a long-time resident of the City of Lockport and died in New York City.
