History

W. began under the name FX in 1998 as a re-launch and re-positioning of the channel. It re-launched as W. in 2003 shortly before Digital broadcasting began. W. has Australian Pay-TV rights for the MyNetworkTV telenovelas, which they air under the branding FOXTELENOVELA. It recently acquired the exclusive Australian rights to the long-running American soap opera The Young and the Restless. One of the faces of the W. channel is Antonia Kidman, sister of Nicole Kidman. She has presented multiple programs including parenting shows. She previously hosted various Entertainment programs for W. and other channels. W2 - the channel two hours later was launched in September 2006, along with other Foxtel channels it is known as a timeshift channel.
