"Victory" is a song by Puff Daddy, and the song is mainly a bragging song, with mafiaso style lyrics, as was popular at the time. It features Notorious B.I.G, who raps two verses, and Busta Rhymes, who sings the song's chorus. The song also heavily - but cleverly - sampled the Bill Conti song "Going the Distance", which featured on the soundtrack to the movie Rocky making it a darker start to a rap album that featured many (at the time) club-standard singles. The music video to the song, not unlike the old movie-style videos MC Hammer was known for, was directed by Marcus Nispel and was more or less a direct homage of the Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Running Man. It also featured cameos from Dennis Hopper as a dictator and Danny DeVito as a live action reporter. Diddy runs the streets during a night-time storm, being chased by armed gestapo-types. Footage from Biggie's "Hypnotize" video was used in ghost images, representing a flashback for Diddy's character while Biggie raps. Busta Rhymes, dressed in some black feathery get-up, raps atop a gargoyle that overlooks the chase scene with Diddy. The production costs ran upwards of $2,700,000.[1] Tamara Beckwith also appears in the video.
