USS Scorpion may refer to one of six vessels of the United States Navy:

  • USS Scorpion (1812), a block sloop that was part of Joshua Barney's Chesapeake Bay flotilla in the War of 1812
  • USS Scorpion (1813), a schooner serving on the upper Great Lakes in the War of 1812
  • USS Scorpion (1847), a bark-rigged steamer of the Mexican-American War
  • USS Scorpion (PY-3), a patrol yacht in service from 1898 to 1927
  • USS Scorpion (SS-278), a Gato-class submarine, lost during World War II
  • USS Scorpion (SSN-589), a Skipjack-class submarine, lost in a Cold War accident

In fiction

A fictitious USS Scorpion plays an important role in Nevil Shute's post-apocalyptic novel On The Beach, though the film versions of the novel change the submarine's name (Sawfish in the 1959 version, Charleston in the 2000 remake).
