The name Joan has been used for one tropical cyclone in the Atlantic Ocean, and ten tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific. Joan was used for one tropical cyclone in the Atlantic:
- 1988's Hurricane Joan - hit Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.
The name Joan was retired after the 1988 season, and was replaced by Joyce in the 1994 season. Joan was used for ten tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific:
