A treasury tag or India tag is an item of stationery used to fasten sheets of paper to each other or to a folder. It consists of a piece of string, typically around 3 to 8 cm (1 to 3 in) long, with two shorter pieces of string reinforced with metal or plastic, and set at right angles at each end. Treasury tags are threaded through holes in paper made with a hole punch. The length of the cord differs between different sizes of tags, so that the most appropriate size can be selected.
