Trapped in a Purple Haze is a TV movie which originally aired on ABC in 2000.

Plot

Max Hanson (Jonathan Jackson), is a talented artist who enjoys playing hockey. He dates Molly (Carly Pope) who ends up introducing him to a lifestyle of parties and drugs. As Max sinks deeper into despair, his caring but overbearing mother (JoBeth Williams) faces the difficulty of watching him transform. The film also featured Hayden Christensen, who eventually beat Jackson for a role in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
