Transit is a 2005 film made by MTV Europe and Tigerlily Films. It was filmed in St. Petersburg, Mexico City, Nairobi and Los Angeles and shows the lives of 4 different people travelling across the globe. During their journeys they think and reason about issues of life such as emotionality and sexuality.

Plot

The starting stories of the four protagonists are as follow:

  • In St. Petersburg Tatjana wants to leave the city with the man she is in love with.
  • In Mexico City, Champinon is desperately trying to find a girlfriend, overshadowed by the success of his friend Blanco.
  • In Los Angeles, Asha finds out that the man of her dreams is cheating on her.
  • In Nairobi, Kenya, Matthew gets into the hip-hop culture.

About the Film

MTV Europe and Tigerlily Films produced this film to air directly on television on all MTV Networks on December 1, the World AIDS Day. Its goal is to make teenagers thing about matters such as sex and relationships. It was made under MTV's Staying Alive line which aims on HIV awareness and discrimination of HIV positive individuals. The film is also available as a free download via the Staying Alive website.
