Tony Porter (b. 1952, Buckinghamshire) is the Bishop of Sherwood (part of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham). He was consecrated on the 21 March 2006 in York Minster by the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu. He was previously the rector of Holy Trinity Platt Church, Rusholme, Manchester, England. Before that he was Vicar of Christ Church, Bacup, Lancashire, England. During his time in Manchester, he was also chaplain to both Manchester City F.C. and Greater Manchester Police. He has studied at both Hertford College, Oxford and Ridley Hall, Cambridge and has written several books.
