The Wanderer (ISBN 1-58586-049-2) is the title of a science fiction novel by Fritz Leiber about a wandering planet that enters the solar system. It won the 1965 Hugo Award for Best Novel. The book is obviously a variation on the classic short story "The Star" by H.G.Wells which describes the passage of a wandering star near Earth and its devastating consequences. However, by substituting a wandering planet for a star, and making that planet inhabited, leiber made possible additional story lines not available in the original.
