The State, released in 2000, is the second album released by the band Nickelback. "Leader of Men" was the lead single from this album and "Breathe" was the next single followed by "Old Enough" and "Worthy to Say". It was first released in 1998 in Canada with a blue album cover as an independent record. The album has a much darker sound than the follow-up albums Silver Side Up, The Long Road and All The Right Reasons.
