Stuff packs are minor expansion packs for The Sims 2 that add new items, clothing, and furniture to the game without any dramatic changes to gameplay. Some additions come in updated versions to the original game.

Holiday Edition

The Sims 2: Holiday Edition is an updated version of The Sims 2. The first version of the game was released on November 17, 2005 in CD-ROM format. It includes additional holiday-related objects, outfits, and decorations for holidays such as Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving.[1] The additional content was released as The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack for players who have already purchased the core game.[2] The second version of The Sims 2: Holiday Edition was released in late 2006. Along with the core game, this version contains The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff, which is a repackaging of The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack with twenty new additional items.

Holiday Party Pack

The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack (known as The Sims 2: Christmas Party Pack in the UK) is considered as the first stuff pack released for The Sims 2. It offered only the new content made available in the 2005 version of the Holiday Edition to players who already owned a copy of the core game. The content from this pack, along with twenty new additional items, is also made available through the stuff pack The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff.

Happy Holiday Stuff & Mini Pack

The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff (known as The Sims 2: Festive Holiday Stuff in the UK) is an update to The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack, and is available for sale from major video game outlets. This is unlike the Holiday Party Pack, which was only available for purchase via Electronic Arts's online store in the US and as a retail version in the Asia Pacific region. This pack adds additional holiday themed content to the game.[2] This pack was originally noted on The Sims 2 website on late September, 2006. It was also noted that a Holiday Edition was to be released simultaneously with the Happy Holiday Pack; containing the original The Sims 2 game and the Happy Holiday Stuff items in one bundle, similar to that of The Sims 2: Holiday Edition released a year earlier. As of October 24, 2006, EA announced a special mini version of this pack called The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Mini Pack.[3] This mini pack is targeted specially at owners of the last years' releases of Holiday Edition and Holiday Party Pack and includes 20 new items not featured in those versions. Among the new items is a new theme: Chinese New Year. As the name suggests that this is a stuff pack, when you install it, no icon appears and the game asks you to play using the latest game you have installed. There are no collection files included either, so players have to create their own.

Family Fun Stuff

The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff is the second "stuff pack" for The Sims 2. This pack adds gameplay elements introduced in the three previous expansion packs and mainly focuses on objects for Sim children's bedrooms including a castle themed bedroom and an underwater themed bedroom. Also included is an upscale living room set, which features a nautical theme. Several new outfits are available for every age group, while kids have the most including new PJs, Swimwear, and more.[6] The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff also includes a few new pre-made houses and several new songs under the "Pop" category performed by the band Barenaked Ladies. Additionally, all the other sims have a Hawaiian theme clothing for all age groups.

Glamour Life Stuff

The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff is the third "stuff pack" for The Sims 2. It was officially announced on July 13, 2006 and was released on August 31, 2006. As the title suggests, this pack focuses on "the glamorous life", and adds a series of new objects, clothing, and walls/floors relating to glamorous lifestyle.[9] This pack also comes with two new pre-made houses.

Celebration! Stuff

The Sims 2: Celebration! Stuff is the fifth "stuff pack" to be released by EA. The first official confirmation of the Celebration Stuff Pack was a flier that was shipped with the The Sims 2: Seasons expansion pack. The game was officially released on April 3, 2007 and features new collections of furniture and outfits for weddings and other social gatherings.[11] Players can also host theme parties, like the fiesta themed party. Two themed houses were shipped in with the pack.

H&M Fashion Stuff

The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff (known as The Sims 2: Fashion Stuff in Australia) was announced on the Sims 2 site on April 25, 2007. Based on the real-world clothing company H&M, it offers the latest H&M clothing collections for men and women. The release date was June 5, 2007. New songs by Jibbs, Keke, Kevin Michael, and NLT are added to the Pop and Hip Hop stations. The "stuff pack" also comes with three premade H&M stores.[13]. The game was also released in countries that have yet to open H&M stores (most notably Japan & Australia), however it was possibly done to increase a fan base for when they open next year.

Teen Style Stuff

The Sims 2: Teen Style Stuff has been officially announced on The Sims 2 website.[14] It was released on November 5, 2007 in North America and on November 6, 2007 in Australia. The pack has styles for various teen cliques, and pop culture related to teenagers (such as tracksuits, custom PCs, etc). It includes "Goth", "Thrasher" and "Socialite" styles.
