Jesse Houk (b. 1971) is a DJ/remixer/producer/artist from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He is better known by his pseudonym, The Scumfrog, under which he has remixed songs by artists as varied as Britney Spears, David Bowie, Dido, Enrique Iglesias, and J-Pop Superstar Utada Hikaru. His first release was a 3-track EP called The Watersong, in 1997. He released his first CD, Simmer, in 2004, which included the single "Music Revolution". In 2005 Music Revolution was chosen for Chevrolet’s long running HHR commercial. In 2006 he released "Mega Scum 01", a DJ mix with original tracks and remixes. He has also worked as Dutch, getting his first number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 2003, "My Time" which he co-wrote with vocalist Crystal Waters. In 2003 Houk founded Dance music label, Effin Records, with industry veteran Steve Rosen. In addition to The Scumfrog, and Dutch, Effin recording artists include Cevin Fisher, Carl Kennedy, and DJs Are Alive the first ever all-star live DJ band featuring Static Revenger, DJ Skribble, D:Fuse, and Kristine W. In February 2007 he launched Glam Scum, a club in the virtual reality universe Second Life (www.secondlife.com) on his 24-hour party island “Skyros”. In April 2007 The Scumfrog began airing a regular radio show called "Glam Scum" on Sirius Satellite Radio's station "Area 33."
