The Pioneers are a Jamaican reggae vocal trio whose main period of success was in the 1960s. They were one of the most notable harmony bands of the early reggae period at the end of the 1960s. The trio has had different line-ups, but is still performing from time to time. The band was popular in the United Kingdom, particularly among skinheads. They had two big UK hits: "Long Shot Kick de Bucket" in 1969, and "Let Your Yeah Be Yeah" which made #5 as a single in 1971. "Long Shot Kick de Bucket" was covered by The Specials on their Special AKA Live! EP which was a UK #1 in 1980.
