The New Centurions is a 1972 film based on the novel by "cop-writer" Joseph Wambaugh, with George C. Scott as a veteran police officer, and Stacy Keach as his soon-to-become world-weary rookie trainee. It also stars Scott Wilson (In Cold Blood), Jane Alexander (Kramer vs. Kramer), Erik Estrada (CHiPs) and James B. Sikking (Hill Street Blues, Doogie Howser). Directed by Richard Fleischer. Spoofed in MAD Magazine in 1973 as "The New Comedians."
