Plot
In this case, Frasier sees that Daphne is lonely, and when new manager Tom Duran, who is newly-single and loves England starts at the station, he decides they would be a perfect couple, and invites him over to meet her. The problem is, Tom is gay, and naturally assumes that Frasier is hitting on him. The viewers learn this almost immediately after Frasier's invite, as he tells Roz his interpretation - that the word of his sexuality has spread, and reached the gay members of the staff. Almost everything Frasier says gives Tom the wrong idea. When Tom mentions how nice the view from his apartment is, Frasier mentions that it's better from the bedroom. When Tom asks if it gets awkward having his dad around when he brings 'dates' home, he is told that Martin tries to steal them off him. To further complicate matters, Niles knows about Frasier's intention of pairing Tom and Daphne up, so he is uncomfortable with Tom's presence - until he learns of Tom's real interests. He finally tells Frasier (Martin wanted to, but they tossed a coin for it and Niles won), shortly before Tom intends to make his big move.
