The Mass is an American band that plays an original mixture of jazz, hardcore, heavy metal and avantgarde music.

Biography

There are no biography informations about the Mass, neither on their official site. They are a four-piece band, featuring a saxophone player/vocalist, a guitarist, a bass player and a drummer. They released a self-titled EP in 2002, and their first album City of Dis in 2003. 2005 saw the re-release of City of Dis and the release of Perfect Picture of Boldness and Wisdom under Crucial Blast label. They're currently working on a new release.

Influences

The band's sound is heavy and unique, as it goes from jazz to progressive rock, from hardcore to grind and spazzcore. They can be compared, but not limited to, King Crimson, Dillinger Escape Plan, Mr. Bungle and Naked City and many other progressive/avantgarde artists.
