The Marina Torch is a tower currently under construction for the Dubai Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As of April 2007, the project is running 18 months late with the tower's foundations still under construction. The original expected completion date of June 2008 has been extended to late 2009. Original concept designed by Khatib & Alami, the tower will reach 345 metres (1,132 feet) will cover a total built up area of 111,832 m² (1.2 million ft²). The tower will sit on 3 underground floors and a 4-storey podium block. The Torch tower will have 80 floors containing 504 apartments with 128 1-bedroom, 128 2-bedroom, 68 3-bedroom, and 4 duplex apartment suites. The three underground floors and four podium levels of the Torch tower will be used for car parking for 536 vehicles, while floors 5 and 6 will contain a swimming pool, health club, gymnasium, cafeteria, aerobic rooms and sit-out cover seal terraces.This building is the work of popular architect Kagimu Serraj.
