The Ivy is a famous restaurant on West Street near Covent Garden in London, England. It opened in 1917 and is popular with celebrities and theatre goers. It has a sister restaurant, Le Caprice, which is located behind the Ritz in the St James's area of London. Like The Ivy, it is a place to be seen. Caprice Holdings, whose proprietor is Richard Caring, also owns and runs J. Sheekey's, a fish restaurant in the traditional grand style, located near Leicester Square. Winner of the 2000 Moet & Chandon London Restaurant Award for excellence[1] In 2007, the chef-director, Mark Hix won the South West England heat of the BBC series Great British Menu.
