The Forum is a modern library and information centre located in the heart of Norwich, Norfolk designed by Michael Hopkins and Partners. The BBC are also located in the building. Standing opposite it is St. Peter Mancroft Church. Accomplishing the meaning of its Latin name (forum meaning: meeting place), the Norwich ‘Forum’ is very busy and is popularly used to hold various public events throughout the year. The building also houses cafe bars, the BBC centre and the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium (NML) library. As part of its effort to reach broader audiences throughout the local community, the Library currently has a thriving "MySpace" page. Since The Forum opened, the amphitheatre-like steps at the front have provided the venue for many different functions such as: amateur theatrical performances, musical competitions, art exhibitions, processions, political demonstrations, an ice rink, a large map and public congregration place.
