The Christian Post is a pan-denominational, Evangelical Christian newspaper based in Washington, D.C.. It is an operating division of The Christian Post Company - a multimedia firm whose principal member productions include digital publications ( www.christianpost.com [1]); web portal, search engine and directories ( www.crossmap.com [2]); an evangelical broadcasting station ( www.goodnewsline.com [3] ); and the print publication, The Christian Post. Launched initially as an online publication, the newspaper was founded in 2000 as a platform to deliver Christian news across denominational lines and as a way to bring together the Christian community through a common news source. It moved its headquarters from San Francisco, California to Washington, D.C. in 2006. The newspaper's Honorary Chairman is Ralph D. Winter, founder of the U.S. Center for World Mission. Its chairman is currently William L. Wagner, a former second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention. Notable contributors to the newspaper include Rick Warren, Founder of Purpose Driven; Charles Colson, Founder and Chairman of Prison Fellowship Ministries; the R. Albert Mohler, Jr., President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary; James Kennedy, President and Founder of Coral Ridge Ministries; and John C. Maxwell, Founder of EQUIP. Contents include Church news, ministries news, mission news, health-related news, opinions, U.S. news, and international news. The newspaper's online edition is ranked Most Popular In Christian News and Media by Alexa[1] and is one of the top 10 Most Popular In Christianity.[2] The Christian Post is an Affiliate Member of the World Evangelical Alliance [3] and a Member of the Evangelical Press Association.[4]
