Publication history

The series was first published in the comics magazine Tintin, on September 16, 1948.[1] When Tintin ended publication in 1980 after the conclusion of the story L'enfant grec, the stories were exclusively published in books. So far, the series consists of 25 albums, published by Casterman, the publishing house also behind The Adventures of Tintin by Hergé. When Martin retired from drawing due to failing eyesight, he passed on the task to his former assistant, Rafael Morales who now creates the series.[2]
