The-Aristocrats were a five piece boy band formed in the British Seaside town of Blackpool.[1]
The band consists of Ross, Martin, Danny, A-D & Alvesy; five local boys who grew up in and around the Blackpool area.[2] After four years of struggling, The-Aristocrats were signed up to IFMP Records in 2002. Based in Poland, IFMP Records promoted the band in and around Eastern Europe. The band shot to fame in March of 2003 with their first hit ‘Do what you like baby;’ which was taken off their album ‘Just the 5 of us.’ The album was a mixture of cheesy Pop and 70’s Funk. [3] Written and produced by Alfon Edmund the album (‘Just the 5 of us’) was never officially released in the UK, to protect the band's image across Europe. IFMP Records were worried that the band would not appeal to a UK audience and could not compete with the like's of The Backstreet Boys and 5ive.[4] The band have not released any material since the single ‘My sugar lady,’ which was taken off their first and last album ‘Just the 5 of us.’ A 2005 comeback tour of Eastern Europe was later cancelled due to low ticket sales. Many say IFMP Records have now dropped the band, but there is no strong evidence to suggest this is true.[5]
