Thomas Archibald (T.A.) Barron (born March 26, 1952, in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American writer of young adult and fantasy literature. He is a graduate of Princeton University, where he currently serves as a Trustee, attended Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship, and has an MBA from Harvard University. He worked as a venture capitalist in New York City before becoming a full-time writer in 1989. He is an active conservationist, serving as a board member for the Wilderness Society and as Trustee of The Nature Conservancy of Colorado. In many of his novels, Barron writes about nature and ecology in mythical and fantasy settings. He says, "“I truly believe every person can make a difference—that's why I'm drawn to heroic quest stories.”
