The Symphony No. 3 in E flat major, Op. 10, B. 34 was composed by Antonín Dvořák composed between April and July of 1873.

Form

The work, unlike his other symphonies, is in three movements:

  1. Allegro moderato
  2. Adagio molto, tempo di marcia
  3. Allegro vivace

A typical performance of the work has a duration of about forty minutes.

Instrumentation

The work is scored for an orchestra of two flutes, piccolo, two oboes, English horn, two clarinets, two bassoons, four horns, two trumpets, three trombones, tuba, timpani, triangle, harp, and strings.
