Sulamith Ish-kishor (1896 - 1977) was an American writer. She was born in London, England, and began writing at an early age. In fact, many of her poems were published by the time she was 10. Like the family in her novel Our Eddie, her family moved to New York City. At Hunter College, she studied languages and history. She wrote widely, and was published in several magazines, including The New Yorker, Saturday Review, and Reader's Digest. Her books included Children's History of Israel and The Carpet of Solomon.
