Stuart Murdoch is an British football manager, most recently caretaker manager at AFC Bournemouth. He is best known for his spell as manager of Wimbledon (from Summer 2004 Milton Keynes Dons) through its administration during the 2003-04 season and relocation to Milton Keynes in September 2003.

Managerial career

Wimbledon and Milton Keynes

Murdoch was appointed as manager of Wimbdedon in May 2002, after the controversial dismissal of his respected predecessor, Terry Burton, and in his first season in charge (2002-03) had guided Wimbledon to 10th in Division One. It was during this season that the club went into administration. Murdoch remained in charge at Wimbledon throughout the disastrous 2003-04 season when, with the club in the hands of the administrators (who were selling off the best players), it suffered the longest series of defeats at this level. In the close season, Wimbledon F.C was renamed Milton Keynes Dons, but the team's fortune on the pitch remained poor. Murdoch was sacked on 8 November 2004 with the team second from bottom in League One. He was replaced by Danny Wilson, former manager of Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.

Bournemouth

In July 2005, Murdoch joined Bournemouth, initially as part-time goalkeeping coach. Until September 2006, when along with youth team coach Joe Roach, he became caretaker manager of the club following the departure of long-serving manager Sean O'Driscoll to Doncaster Rovers. Murdoch remained as goalkeeping coach after the appointment of Kevin Bond.
