Stuart McLean (born 1948 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian radio broadcaster, comedian and author. He is often described as a "story-telling comic", though he has written many serious stories. McLean was educated at Bishop's College School and graduated from Sir George Williams University with a B.A. degree. He is best known as the host of The Vinyl Cafe on CBC Radio One and CBC Radio 2. During the 1980s-1990s he was a frequent guest and sometimes host of Morningside with Peter Gzowski. McLean retired in 2004 as a professor at the School of Journalism at Ryerson University in Toronto. McLean's books of stories from The Vinyl Cafe have won the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour three times, tying him with fellow CBC Radio host Arthur Black for most wins of that award.
