Steiner Studios is the largest film studio in the borough of Brooklyn and the second-largest film studio in New York City. The facility is located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Films incorporating scenes shot at Steiner include Spider-Man 3 and Inside Man. An expansion was announced in February 2007 that would nearly double the size of the studios, to 600,000 square feet, through renovation of a seven-story building in the Navy Yard. Expansion plans include creation of a 289,000-square-foot media campus on Washington Avenue. The media campus will house businesses with ties to film and television, such as art designers and stylists. The largest studio in New York City is Silvercup Studios in the neighboring borough of Queens.
