STAR! (1968) is a bio-pic based on the life of Gertrude Lawrence. The film follows Lawrence's tumultuous life from her beginning roots in the slums of London through her many affairs with men from both continents. This film was mainly a vehicle for Julie Andrews that reunited her with director Robert Wise and producer Saul Chaplin, all of whom worked together on the wildly successful movie musical The Sound of Music.
