St. Anthony is a city in Fremont County, Idaho, United States. The population was 3,342 at the 2000 census.

Geography

St. Anthony is located at 43°57′58″N, 111°41′4″W (43.966079, -111.684480)GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km²), of which, 1.3 square miles (3.4 km²) of it is land and 0.76% is water.

Demographics

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,342 people, 1,091 households, and 819 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,565.0 people per square mile (992.6/km²). There were 1,218 housing units at an average density of 934.8/sq mi (361.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 89.05% White, 0.21% African American, 0.69% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 7.09% from other races, and 2.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.38% of the population. There were 1,091 households out of which 40.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.9% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.9% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.94 and the average family size was 3.47. In the city the population was spread out with 33.2% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 107.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.8 males. The median income for a household in the city was $31,023, and the median income for a family was $37,995. Males had a median income of $26,625 versus $22,734 for females. The per capita income for the city was $12,898. About 10.3% of families and 15.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 20.8% of those under age 18 and 14.2% of those age 65 or over.
