"Six Degrees of Separation" is an episode of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica television series.

Plot

Survivor Count: 47,958 Dr. Baltar and his vision of Number Six have a heated argument about religion. After he mocks Number Six's concept of a single God, she promptly vanishes from his head. Soon, however, Baltar is stunned to encounter a flesh-and-blood Number Six in Galactica's CIC, this one named Shelly Godfrey and claiming to have been an assistant of Baltar's late colleague Dr. Amorak. She promptly accuses a stunned Baltar of being the traitor who sold out humanity to the Cylons. Miss Godfrey shows photographic evidence that Baltar carried an explosive device into the Colonial Defense Mainframe on Caprica, allowing the Cylons to carry out their nuclear attack. A stupefied Baltar is promptly arrested, charged as a traitor and thrown in the brig. Lt. Gaeta conducts an analysis of the photos while Miss Godfrey tries to seduce Commander Adama in his quarters. Her behavior makes him suspicious and he orders covert surveillance of her at all times. In the brig President Roslin tells Baltar that she is not in the least surprised that he may be a Cylon collaborator; she only succeeds in raising his ire. Afterwards, a desperate and pleading Baltar begins to pray to the Cylon God for assistance as he has no wish to be executed as a traitor. Meanwhile, in the hangar bay, Chief Tyrol and Specialist Cally try to gain insights into the captured Cylon Raider but they find its biological systems utterly confusing. Col. Tigh goads Lt. Starbuck from her hospital bed to give the Chief a hand. Meanwhile, Galactica-Boomer arrives and spooks Tyrol by her passionate views of the spacecraft, telling him they would make more progress if they treated it as a living being - a pet - instead of a machine. Gaeta finally determines that Godfrey's evidence has been faked, and Baltar is released. Afterward, President Roslin holds a press conference publicly exonerating Baltar. Internal Six tells him that his public position is now stronger than ever since he has been accused of a serious crime and found innocent, and even possibly been the target of a Cylon plot. Meanwhile, Godfrey has somehow disappeared from Galactica and is nowhere to be found. On Caprica, Helo and Caprica-Boomer hide in a forest. Helo uses the opportunity to confess his growing feelings for her stating that he could never bear to see anything happen to her. Under the rain of a thunderstorm, the two make love. Back on Galactica, Galactica-Boomer finds the word CYLON smeared on her locker mirror. She fears that there is truth to the statement.
