Sister Machine Gun was an industrial band formed by Chris Randall and Chris Kelly in Chicago. Sascha Konietzko (of KMFDM) became interested in their music and produced their first demo, which got them signed to Wax Trax! Records in 1992. Chris Kelly left the band shortly thereafter, and since then Randall has continued the band as a solo project with various collaborators, notably Jim Marcus and Van Christie of Chicago industrial-funk act Die Warzau. Sister Machine Gun's 1995 album, Burn has two hidden tracks on the CD release. The first is a reprise of the song "Inside" found at 8:43. The second is a cover of The Doors, "Strange Days" which is found by rewinding the CD to -4:20 on a CD player. This does not work on either Windows Media Player or iTunes Player. This song was covered with the hope of being placed on the soundtrack to the 1995 Kathryn Bigelow film, "Strange Days". However in the end, the version covered by Prong made the soundtrack. After 1997's Metropolis album, Randall left Wax Trax and sued their parent label, TVT Records, for breach of contract. Since then, he has released all his material on Positron! Records, which is operated by his wife, Lisa Randall. Core members of the band were Chris Randall and guitarist Miguel Turanzas. Sister Machine Gun got their name from an essay written by Die Warzau member Jim Marcus, entitled "Sister Machine Gun, Brother Bomb". Despite claims to the contrary, the name was not inspired by a lyric from the Skinny Puppy song, "Tin Omen". In fact, both instances originate from the Marcus essay. In 2007, Sister Machine Gun officially disbanded and Chris Randall began solo career.
