Simon Ove Christian Oglivie Spies (September 1, 1921April 16, 1984) was a famous Danish tycoon, best known for starting the charter airline Spies Rejser, which is owned by MyTravel today. Spies Rejser was opened in 1956 and would soon become a huge success along with the competitor Tjæreborg. In the beginning they arranged cheap bus/boattrips to Mallorca, but later (in the early 1960s) Spies bought the bankrupt Danish charter operator Flying Enterprise and formed his own airline, Conair. Simon Spies was a provocateur and is famous for his morgenbolledamer (Morning bun ladies), who officially was employed to bake buns in the morning. However bun is a pun in Danish and does also mean to have sex with (which was what he actually did with them). When he went to the theater he would usually buy three tickets so there was one seat for his cane and one for his dog Archibald.
