The Shropshire Revolution are in the BAFL 2, Division 2 Central of the BAFL's 3 divisions, (BAFL Premier, BAFL 1 and BAFL 2). [2] After making a successful debut on the American Football scene in the UK when they beat Lincoln Bombers 30-6 on October 1st 2006 in their maiden match at Telford Town Park, registering four touchdowns to the delight of a healthy crowd of around 200 as they bid to earn a place in the British American Football League for the 2007 season, the game marked the return of the sport to Shropshire after the collapse of the county's Wrekin Giants in the 1980s. History

The Shropshire Revolution American Football team were formed in January of 2006 by like minded enthusiasts and fans of the American Football game of the NFL, NCAA Football and CFL, via a forum on the website of NFLUK. [4] 7 players met for the first session in the Town Park Bowl on Saturday January 21st 2006, when the following week a management team was formed. Initial discussions were along the lines of Flag Football until the team were ready to think about entering an application for kitted league football. Media interest from BBC Local Television, BBC Radio Shropshire, the Shropshire Star newspaper, and Beacon Radio swelled the numbers of those interested in viewing and participating in the game considerably over the following weeks and a competition, run on Beacon Radio to choose the team name from a short list, declared that the team shall be known as the 'Shropshire Revolution' . The management team have since been working towards becoming an Associate Member of the British American Football League. This application was successful and the team granted associate membership on 2nd July 2006. The teams first game took place on the 1st October 2006. In front of around 200 people, the Revolution beat the Lincolnshire Bombers 30-6. This was followed on the 15th October by the teams first away game against the Leicestershire Falcons, which the Revolution won 28-14. And finally a home game against the Leicestershire Falcons on the 28th October saw the Revolution romp home with a 29-0 victory, bringing their 2006 associate season to a glorious finale. On November 1st the league confirmed that the Revolutions application for league membership for the 2007 season, had been successful. The Shropshire Revolution cheerleader squad are called the Revettes. [5]
